Dr. Jeff Giullian is a nephrologist from Denver and Chief Medical Officer of DaVita, Inc, an international kidney services and dialysis organization. As the clinical leader, he is engaged in developing and implementing DaVita’s clinical strategies. Dr. Giullian leads the transformation of kidney care through his commitment to providing holistic, integrated care that addresses the clinical and psychosocial needs of patients. He is focused on pushing the boundaries of exemplary care through innovation and expanding what is possible for patients living with kidney disease or a kidney transplant.
Dr. Giullian trained in nephrology and transplantation at Vanderbilt University, where he served as Chief Fellow in 2006. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Medical Officer, Jeff served as the CMO for DaVita’s Hospital Services Group, providing inpatient dialysis and apheresis care in partnership with over 900 hospitals across the US. He has been involved in clinical research and has held several leadership positions including Chief of Nephrology and Chairman of Medicine at two community hospitals in Denver.
Outside of his clinical and professional work, Dr. Giullian is active in the Renal Physician’s Association, formerly serving on the Board of Directors, past Chair of the Healthcare Payment Committee and previously as one of RPA’s advisors to the AMA RVU Utilization Committee. He is actively involved in educating physicians on coding and billing, value-based care and practice transformation.
When not involved in clinical care and oversight, Dr. Giullian enjoys traveling, running and spending time in the Colorado Mountains with his wife and daughter.
