Bobby was an undergraduate in Creative Writing at Brown when he TA'd Robert Coover's inaugural Hypertext Fiction Workshop in 1991. He returned for his graduate degree and completed the program's first digital master's thesis in 1994, published on the web by Sonicnet in 1996 as the pioneering hypertext novel Sunshine ’69. He was appointed lecturer in the departments of Literary Arts and Modern Culture & Media, where during ten years he taught dozens of electronic writing workshops and digital humanities seminars and joined the interdisciplinary team of faculty that created the first campus Multimedia Lab (the MML). Bobby is now the founding director of the Center for Emerging Media & Digital Arts at Southern Oregon University.
