Sergeant Vance Cox is a Patrol Sergeant for the Idaho State Police. Vance began his law enforcement career in 2000 with ISP. He received his POST Supervisor Certificate. Vance is assigned to the Region 6 patrol office in Southeast Idaho in the Idaho Falls area. Vance has been on the Domestic Highway Enforcement Criminal Interdiction Team since it began. Vance is a POST certified instructor and enjoys teaching criminal interdiction to law enforcement.
Vance graduated from Ricks College with an Associates degree in Arts and Sciences, and has continued his education towards a Bachelors degree at BYU Idaho. He has over 3,000 hours of Law Enforcement training. Those training hours include: Drug Recognition Expert, Drug Investigations, Criminal Interdiction, DUI Apprehension, The Reid Interview and Interrogation School, The Kinesic Interview and Interrogation School, Desert Snow, MVCI conferences, 420 Group trainings, and various other criminal interdiction trainings. Vance enjoys removing drug traffickers and impaired drivers from Idaho's roadways.
Vance is married to Audrey (Morell) Cox, and they are the proud parents of six wonderful children. Vance enjoys spending time in the beautiful outdoors of Idaho with his family.
