Taylor Ernst is a renowned brain injury trial specialist, recognized as the 2020 CCTLA Trial Lawyer of the Year for a brain injury verdict. He has established himself as a leading authority in traumatic brain injury (TBI) litigation, earning the title of California Lawyer Attorney of the Year by the Daily Journal in 2024. Taylor's innovative approach led to a landmark $63 million verdict against Chevron, recognized among the Top Verdicts of 2023. He has been named to the Daily Journal's Top 40 Under 40 list and the National Trial Lawyers (NTL) Top 40 Under 40. Taylor's practice is grounded in scientific rigor and medical expertise, with a comprehensive personal library of peer-reviewed articles and cutting-edge TBI research. His groundbreaking initiative, The Manhattan Project, has set new standards in trial strategy. He is the author of “The Ernst Way,” a 300-page TBI litigation guide, and hosts the popular podcast, TBI Lawyer Secrets. Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in history of public policy from UC Santa Barbara, where he graduated with high honors. During his undergraduate studies, he also completed a course in Mandarin Chinese at the Beijing Language School. He then attended the University of San Diego School of Law, where he clerked for two firms and a congresswoman before beginning his career with the Ernst Law Group. Taylor continues to advance the scientific understanding of TBI cases within the legal profession through regular presentations and educational initiatives. He lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife Ashley and their daughter Dylan.
