Dodjie is the CMS Region VI Hospital and ASC Program Lead. He was a CMS representative in the EMTALA Technical Advisory Group for the US Secretary of Health from April 2006 to September 2007. He was one of the primary instructors for the CMS national training for hospitals and EMTALA. He had a primary role in the creation of Chapter 5 (Complaints) of the CMS State Operations Manual published March 2006 and in creation of the web-based Hospital and EMTALA Training for State Surveyors. He serves as a resource person for hospital, ASC, and EMTALA issues for other CMS Regional offices, State Survey Agencies, and CMS Central Office. He provides policy guidance and clarification primarily for hospitals, EMTALA, and ASC.
Before joining CMS in 1998, he was a State surveyor in Texas for 8 years with emphasis on non-long-term care provider entities: Hospitals, EMTALA, ASC, HHA, and Hospices.
He has an MBA in Health Services Management from the University of Dallas in Irving, TX, a Psychiatric Nursing Diploma from England, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. He is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and a Registered Nurse.
He had extensive clinical experience in forensic and adolescent psychiatry, emergency room nursing, cardiovascular nursing, oncology, bone marrow transplantation, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and many more.
