Michael Policar, MD, MPH, is Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the UCSF School of Medicine, and owner of PolicarLectures, a reproductive health policy consulting company in San Rafael, CA. Since 2015, he has been Clinical Fellow for the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), in which he advises staff regarding clinical and health policy issues regarding the Title X family planning program. He retired from clinical practice in September 2017, after a 34-year career as a clinician educator of ObGyn and primary care residents at the San Francisco General Hospital. From 2005 through 2014, he was Medical Director of UCSF Program Support and Evaluation for the Family PACT Program, the family planning and STI program operated by the California State Office of Family Planning. Between 1999-2005, he was Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer of the NorthBay Healthcare System in Fairfield, California, and Medical Director of the Partnership HealthPlan of California (1995-1999) . He is former Vice President for Medical Affairs of PPFA. a position that he held between 1992-1994.
