Screening for Anal Cancer Prevention: Who, When and How?

Dr. Rosalyn Plotzker provides patient care at the UCSF Anal Neoplasia Clinic, Research, and Education (ANCRE) Center where she performs high-resolution anoscopy for anal cancer prevention. She is a former AIDS Malignancy Consortium Domestic Scholar, co-author of the International Anal Neoplasia Society Consensus Guidelines for anal cancer screening, and currently serves as an external expert for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sexually transmitted infection (STI) Treatment Guideline section on human papillomavirus infections. Dr. Plotzker completed an STI fellowship at UCSF and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), where she now serves as a part-time medical office. She also is a clinical faculty member for the California Prevention Training Center, which delivers STI education in the western United States. Finally, Dr. Plotzker is the Program Director of the UCSF Public Health and General Preventive Medicine residency program.
