Dr. Nicole Economou is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Davis. She completed her residency at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center and fellowship in complex family planning at the University of California, San Diego where she also completed a masters in public health. Dr. Economou’s fellowship research project focused on a novel pain control intervention for osmotic dilator placement prior to dilation and evacuation. Dr. Economou’s research interests and clinical passions center around finding effective interventions for pain control during gynecologic procedures, specifically for family planning services. Dr. Economou currently serves as the Ryan residency program co-director at the University of California, Davis and director of the obstetrics and gynecology clerkship. She is committed to expanding family planning training to clinicians from all specialties.
