Jason Ryckman is the National Codes & Standards Manager at the Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association. He started his fire protection career in June 1998 after graduating from Fire Protection Engineering Technology program at Seneca College in Toronto, Ontario. Mr. Ryckman worked as an Engineering Technician, and Senior Project Manager specializing in fire sprinklers for 16 years in the United States before joining the Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association in May 2014. Mr. Ryckman is responsible for codes & standards, and fire sprinkler education across Canada assisting all stakeholders in the fire protection industry. Mr. Ryckman completed the Water Based System Layout Level III from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology. Mr. Ryckman is a National Standing Committee on Fire Protection, Graduate Member for the Institution of Fire Engineers, and committee member on NFPA 13, 13 R/D, 14, 25, Ontario Building Code Technical Advisory Committee for Part 3 - Fire Protection, Occupant Safety and Accessibility, CSA B139 Technical Committee on Installation Code for Oil-Burning Equipment, and SFPE Southern Ontario Chapter Member at Large.
