Making the Value Statement for Computer Modeling & Simulation
12:45 PM - 1:30 PM Thu
Christopher Basciano is a Staff Engineer and Manager within the Corporate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Group within BD. He has 15 years of experience developing physics-based models of fluid dynamics and soft tissue mechanics. During his time at BD, he has become the technical lead for computational fluid dynamics analyses within the BD CAE Group and has developed computational models and simulations on a wide range of projects that include new product development and manufacturing process improvements. A consistent goal of Christopher’s modeling and simulation work is to connect the computational analyses with engineering fundamentals and product/business acumen. Prior to joining BD, Chris was a principal investigator at Applied Research Associates and earned his MS and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and a BS in engineering with a biomedical engineering specialization from Mercer University.
