Sessions
Track A - Deep Energy Retrofits
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM Wed
David Goldstein, PE, is the founder of Hydronic Shell Technologies and will be providing a background on the environmental impact that buildings have on our environment both globally and more locally, in New York City specifically. This topic along with a brief overview of New York City’s Local Law 97 will nicely lead into a discussion on the steps that need to be taken to dramatically reduce heating emissions (building envelope improvements, electrifying heat and heat pumps and their efficiencies will all be covered). David’s presentation will wrap up with a description of his company’s product which is under development, the Hydronic Shell. He will discuss how the components of the Hydronic Shell are layed out, how it addresses current issues with retrofitting a multi-family building’s Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system and he will also provide a cost analysis of a building that would incorporate this technology.
