Jennifer focuses her practice at the intersection of technology and communications with an emphasis on the legal issues arising from disruptive innovation: media and content, vehicle safety, connected and automated cars, electrification, infotainment, data privacy and security. As leader of the Butzel Media Team, Jennifer defends news and content creators in defamation and privacy claims. As a former engineer, she assists clients in quality and warranty issues, safety recalls, and the launch of new technology. Jennifer was named one of the 30 Women Defining the Future of Technology by Warner Communications for innovative thoughts and contributions to the tech industry.
As a self-titled “recovering engineer,” Jennifer was influenced by her high-level quality management and engineering positions with Tier 1 suppliers where she held multi-million dollar bottom line responsibility. She worked extensively on successful automotive product launches, managing vendors and manufacturing facilities. Working as a design engineer, she received multiple Record of Invention Awards for contributions to patents and trade secrets. She is a Six Sigma Certified Master Black Belt.
