Impact of Fatherhood/Fatherhood Engagement

For three decades David has been a father/family advocate, a community organizer, minister, and influential leader. He has successfully guided and grown a local direct service program for 11 years. Over time he has coordinated multiple events, activities, and programs aimed at the restoration of the priceless institution of fatherhood and raising awareness of the challenges related to father absence. This most notably includes the newly formed Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families (CCFF), which is poised to enhance positive fatherhood engagement/programming across Kentucky. As Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of CCFF, David leads statewide efforts and beyond.
David is widely viewed as an expert on fatherhood, civic engagement, implicit bias, black male achievement, strengthening families & communities, child maltreatment reduction, and other related matters. His work and efforts have impacted policies, procedures, and practices and served thousands of fathers, children, and families. He is a recent recipient of the Governors Annual Services Awards - Lifetime Achievement Award. David has served and/or been appointed to a robust list of local, state, and national boards, committees, and taskforces. He currently serves on the boards of the University of Campbellsville and the National Fatherhood Initiative.
David is the son of the late Charles and Eva Hill. He is married to his accomplished wife, Nekesha Cozart, newly named Principle of the esteemed, flagship educational model, Carter G. Woodson Academy. He is the proud father of Zachary, Destiny, and Dalen. He is "G-Daddy" to his granddaughter Khalani and grandson Legend.
