Nicole Broughton-Adams is part of the Center for Integrative Studies in Arts and Humanities and the Arts and Cultural Management Program at Michigan State University. Prior to working at MSU, Nicole was Chair of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts and the Program Director of the MA Arts Administration Program at the University of Michigan Flint, where she taught Stage Management, Production Management and Arts Administration for 17 years. Nicole is currently the Director of Production for Nicely Theatre Group and a Production Collaborator on Sofa Stories Detroit, a part of Every Soul Arts. She is also a member of Actors Equity Association. She received her MFA in Production Technology Management from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 2005. She has also worked with: Boarshead Theatre, Flint Youth Theatre, Sofa Stories: Detroit, Spiro Productions, Shop Floor Theatre Company and Michigan Shakespeare Festival. Nicole is currently the American College Theatre Festival Chair for the State of Michigan, coordinating 50+ production responses each year for Colleges and Universities across the state. She has served as a member of the Selection Committee for Region 3 since 2022. She was the Chair and primary contact for the festival host school for the 2023 and 2024 Festivals. Beginning in 2005 she took on the role of Workshop Coordinator for the festival, finding times, locations and putting out fires for 100+ workshops each year.
