Supporting the Whole Family: Engaging Caregivers of Abused Children

Karen Corban, LCSW is the Family Support and Intake Specialist at the Children’s Center of Clackamas County and has been working in the field of child maltreatment for 14 years. She leads the Clackamas County Mental Health Collaborative which brings together local mental health providers monthly to learn and connect with one another. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver with a concentration in Child Welfare. Prior to her work at Children’s Center, she worked as an Adoption Supervisor and Pregnancy Counselor at Bethany Christian Services where she helped facilitate foster and domestic adoptions, as well as counseled pregnant women considering relinquishment. Mrs. Corban also worked as a Social Caseworker at Larimer County Department of Human Services as well as served children and youth in a secure residential treatment setting. Mrs. Corban has a passion for working with children and families affected by abuse or neglect and strives to instill hope in every family she serves.
