Supporting the Whole Family: Engaging Caregivers of Abused Children

Lauren Krzyzaniak is a Child & Family Therapist at a community mental health agency (Children’s Center) in Vancouver, Washington and has worked in mental health/family violence/child maltreatment for 5 years. She has her M.A. in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College, with an emphasis on treating children and adolescents. Prior to her current position, Lauren worked as a Family Support & Intake Specialist at the Children’s Center of Clackamas County, where she provided support and resources to caregivers on the day of their child’s abuse assessment. She has experience as a unit supervisor at a low-security residential treatment program, where she worked with teenage boys who were court mandated to complete sex offender treatment in Saginaw, Michigan. Lauren has also worked as a victim advocate for survivors of domestic violence in Clark County, Washington and Saginaw County, Michigan. Lauren is particularly passionate about providing evidence-based trauma treatment to children who have been impacted by domestic violence and child maltreatment.
