Sean Carter is President and CEO of NEACH and its subsidiary, NEACH Payments Group (NPG). As President and CEO of NEACH, Sean creates and drives the strategic direction and vision for NEACH that not only supports organizational objectives and member needs, but contributes to the continued operation of a simple, safe, and secure payments system for financial institutions of all sizes and their customers and members. As President and CEO of NPG, Sean leads, guides and directs all aspects of the organization from employee and business development to the launch of new products and services. His oversight ensures financial institutions, corporations, and vendors can continually solve payments challenges, manage risk and compliance, and drive financial and business improvement, through the organization’s suite of audit, risk management, and consulting services. Sean has served the financial services industry for more than 20 years as an employee of NEACH. Through his diverse roles, he has developed a profound understanding of the needs of the financial services industry, forged meaningful relationships, and identified key strategic opportunities and partnerships. His service to the industry and commitment to shaping the future of payments will support continued efforts to maintain the integrity of the payments system while serving the needs of members and their customers, clients, and the financial services industry as a whole. Sean is an Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) and a Certified National Check Professional (NCP). He is an active member of the payments community, serving as a frequent speaker at national industry events, and a key participant in industry groups, including Nacha, ECCHO, the Center for Payments, the Payments Innovation Alliance, and the Faster Payments Council, among others.
