Kimberly “Kim” Hawley is a Senior Consultant at Navaide, bringing more than three decades of federal financial management, accounting, and military pay expertise to the discussion of defense workflow modernization. She currently supports the Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS) Navy ERP migration effort, where she applies her deep understanding of military pay execution, reconciliation, legacy systems, and operational workflows to help bridge the gap between complex financial operations and modernized, audit-ready processes. Prior to joining Navaide, Kim completed a distinguished 34-year federal career supporting military readiness and personnel operations. She served in key accounting and leadership roles across the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) and BUPERS, rising from hands-on accounting positions to senior leadership responsibilities across multiple business areas. In 2018, she was selected by BUPERS to stand up and lead the Military Pay Execution Office in Cleveland, Ohio, where she provided oversight of the Military Personnel Navy (MPN) appropriation and helped guide teams through complex legacy data and system transitions. Kim’s career has centered on the realities defense financial teams face every day: disconnected systems, high-volume transactions, reconciliation challenges, audit requirements, and the need to deliver accurate, timely support to service members. Her practical experience across DFAS, BUPERS, military pay operations, and Navy ERP implementation gives her a valuable perspective on how organizations can modernize financial workflows while maintaining operational control, data integrity, and audit readiness. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Charleston and is a Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM). She currently resides in Mount Dora, Florida, with her husband, Tom. Outside of her professional endeavors, she is the proud mother of three sons and enjoys spending time with her granddaughter.
