Adrian West is a Graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from American Military University. With over 33 years of distinguished military service, including more than 30 years in leadership positions, Adrian has dedicated his career to leading, mentoring, and inspiring others in service to the nation. As a commissioned officer, he has held multiple command assignments and key leadership positions of immense responsibility—roles that have directly influenced the lives of thousands of service members, civilians, and their families both within and beyond the military.
Throughout his career, Adrian West has been recognized for his exceptional ability to lead diverse teams, manage complex operations, and drive mission success under challenging conditions, as evidenced by his contributions to rescue and recovery efforts following the tragic events of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He is the recipient of several personal and campaign awards, including the Captain John G. Witherspoon Inspirational Leadership award and 6 Meritorious Service medals. His leadership philosophy is grounded in respect, integrity, personal accountability, and a deep commitment to developing others. Whether commanding units, shaping strategic initiatives, or mentoring the next generation of leaders, Adrian West has consistently exemplified the highest standards of professionalism and service.
