Ms. Mobola A. Kadiri is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Operations), (DASN (FO)). As the DASN (FO), she is responsible for the Department of the Navy (DON) accounting and financial management matters. She serves as the principal advisor to Navy senior leadership, overseeing Navy’s financial enterprise to strengthen accountability, transparency and readiness in support of Navy missions. She provides strategic leadership over the formulation, execution and oversight of the Navy’s financial operations, including accounting and financial reporting, internal controls, audit remediation, and financial system governance.
Previously, she was appointed to the Senior Executive Service as the Director of the Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) Directorate within the Department of War (DoW), Office of the Under Secretary of War (Comptroller) (OUSW(C)). In this capacity, Ms. Kadiri executed the Department-wide audit remediation strategy and provided audit guidance to the Military Departments, Other Defense Organizations and Defense Activities. She led changes to drive efficiency and strengthen the internal controls in support of the Department’s audit. Prior to this role, Ms. Kadiri was the Assistant Director for the OUSW(C) FIAR Directorate and an accountant supporting the Fourth Estate audit readiness and internal control efforts.
Ms. Kadiri’s federal experience extends beyond the DoW. She worked with the Department of the Treasury as an accountant, reconciling the Treasury warrants to the appropriations law and reconciling the fund balance with Treasury for the Federal Government. In this role, she acted as a liaison to other federal agencies and assisted with resolving quarterly variances identified during the Fund Balance with Treasury reconciliation process.
Ms. Kadiri has also supported the Federal Government as an auditor and a consultant. At Deloitte & Touché, Ms. Kadiri led numerous projects and assisted organizations in attaining their goals strategically in financial management, audit readiness, budget execution, performance improvement, and financial transformation by developing and implementing solutions. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, she performed federal financial statement and compliance audits of large federal entities.
Ms. Kadiri has received several awards including the Office of the Secretary of War Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service, DON Superior Civilian Service Award, and DoW Performance Award. In addition to her awards, she has been recognized by the SECWAR on the completion of the Department’s first financial statement audit and from the Navy for Dedicated Service to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (FM&C).
