Ms. Beer is the Director of SAF/FMFO Accounting Policy & Operations, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Management and Comptroller. In this capacity, she directly oversees the Department of the Air Forces’ central hub for all field and operational support questions. Her office is charged with assisting Financial Managers across the United States Air Force and United States Space Force to answer functional and technical issues that arise throughout daily mission duties. This involves developing and implementing accounting policy, tracking and resolving issues, monitoring system operations and management, publishing performance analytical products, publishing communications, system administration, security management, compliance, and sustainment training. She also oversees patch validation efforts and a variety of centrally managed FM programs. Her office’s mission to provide continual customer support and user assistance to the field is essential for success for both Legacy and DEAMS users. Ms. Beer, a native of Dayton, OH, began her federal civil service career in 2008 at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service working a variety of operational, accounting, and project management positions. She transitioned to the Air Force in 2012, serving as the DEAMS Customer Support Division lead and then spearheaded the transformation of the organization to standup the Air Force Accounting Operations Center (AFAOC). In 2024, she orchestrated the merging of the AFAOC and the Air Force Accounting and Finance Office (AFAFO) into the SAF/FMFO Accounting Policy & Operations organization, providing a central source of accounting and financial management systems customer support to the field. Ms. Beer is a Project Management Professional. She holds a Defense Financial Management Certification, Level 3, and is an accomplished leader with more than twenty years of experience in federal and private sector business transformation, system development, change management, and customer support.
