Natasha N. Anderson serves as the Director of Financial Operations and Accounting within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Operations and Information), a role she has held since August 2021. In this capacity, she leads enterprise-wide financial management initiatives, overseeing policies, programs, and procedures that support the Army’s accounting, auditing, risk management, and financial reporting activities. With more than two decades of federal financial management experience, Ms. Anderson has played a key role in advancing the Army’s auditability efforts. Prior to her current position, she served as Director of General Fund Audit Readiness, where she led execution of the Army’s financial statement audits and drove corrective actions to strengthen internal controls and improve audit outcomes. Her leadership contributed to the development and implementation of the Army’s audit infrastructure and long-term strategy toward achieving a clean audit opinion. Ms. Anderson began her federal career with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) as an accountant, supporting financial reporting, policy, and operations. She later joined Kearney & Company, where she helped establish and execute the Army’s Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) plan. She holds a Master of Accountancy from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from McDaniel College. Ms. Anderson is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Defense Financial Managers and the Association of Government Accountants
