Joseph E. Townsend is a licensed nursing facility administrator with over 36 operational experience in health care management and training. He received a M.Ed. from LSU and Masters in Healthcare Administration of The University of Mississippi. Mr. Townsend’s professional career ranges from overseeing the construction of and management of new facilities to taking over nursing homes that were struggling either financially or operationally.
Mr. Townsend is the author of The Principles of Health Care Administration, a text book that is used widely as a study guide for those preparing for the both the Core and Line of Service Nursing Facility Administrator’s exams. In addition to the text book, Mr. Townsend has taught the review course since 1989 (first taught for the Arkansas Health Care Association). He currently teaches the review program in seven different states as well as certifying preceptors in other states as well.
Mr. Townsend retired from the day-to-day operations on May 1, 2020 but remains involved in the industry.
