Megan A. Cohen, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Complex Family Planning, Department of GYN/OB at Emory University and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Southeast. She additionally serves as a Guest Researcher at the CDC assisting with the update of the U.S. Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use and Selected Practice Recommendations. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Cohen received her MD and MPH degrees at Emory University with a certificate in Maternal and Child Health. She completed residency in OB/GYN at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and a fellowship in Global Women's Health at Johns Hopkins University. She then returned to OHSU for Complex Family Planning fellowship training in contraception and abortion. Dr. Cohen has over 9 years’ experience in reproductive healthcare service provision, research, capacity-building, and advocacy in local and global settings. Her research interests include improving disparities in reproductive health through implementation of evidence-based care and advocacy for policies supporting reproductive autonomy.
