Risk-Based Audit Selection: How to Improve Results

Public Accountant and Auditor, Ana Luisa Parada Martínez, is the Acting Intendant of Tax Audit at the Tax and Customs Agency (SAT) of Guatemala. Her experience spans the fields of external and internal audit, tax advisory, tax and financial planning, accounting and human resource management. For the past two years, before taking on the role of Interim Intendant, she served as the Tax Audit Supervising Manager supporting audit planning, treatment programs and activities, and audit programs for internal taxes and customs areas.
Ms. Parada has also participated in the issuance of institutional criteria, and has coordinated the implementation, dissemination, compliance and updating in the application of laws, regulations and standards.
Currently, Ms. Parada leads the SAT’s Compliance Risk Management Committee’ Technical Group, whose role includes the definition and prioritization of compliance risks, proposal of risk management models, and design and implementation of compliance improvement programs, in alignment with the SAT’s strategic objectives.
