Dr Alessa Teunisse is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Primary and Community Care Services and the Australian Social Prescribing Institute of Research and Education. With a background in psychology, her research focuses on social prescribing, perinatal mental health, and community-based interventions addressing social determinants of health. Dr Teunisse has published in peer-reviewed journals and is passionate about translating research evidence into practical solutions that improve health equity and community wellbeing. Her current work examines how social prescribing can address the complex needs of mothers during the perinatal period, with the goal of developing scalable, culturally responsive interventions that support both maternal and child outcomes.
