Bibiana Chan is the founder of the Community Flower Studio (CFS), a youth-focused, arts-based mental health initiative based in Sydney. She completed her PhD research at the Black Dog Institute, exploring the help-seeking pathways of Chinese-Australians experiencing psychological distress. In 2010, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study peer-led recovery programs in North America. In 2012, Bibiana was invited to join Yale University’s Program for Recovery and Community Health to pursue her postdoctoral research. With a background in health promotion and research—and lived experience of depression—Bibiana has led community programs that integrate cultural identity, creativity, and peer mentoring to foster belonging and resilience. CFS’s Youth Mental Health Program was a finalist in the 2024 Mental Health Matters Awards. In 2024–25, Bibiana was a featured speaker at Headspace’s Raising Resilient Teens Forum and the Putting People First Symposium at the 2025 Social Enterprise Festival. website: communityflowerstudio@yahoo.com
