Barbara Walsh is a Senior Research Fellow at the Health Research Institute (HRI) at the University of Canberra (UC) and project lead for the Connect Up 2617 project. Barbara has a background in professional communication in the UK, Sydney and Canberra, and worked for over 15 years as a teaching academic in the areas of strategic and organisational communication, community consultation and work integrated learning. Since leaving UC in 2022 Barbara has led the national consultation for the development of Media Guidelines for the Reporting of Child Sexual Abuse for UC’s News and Media Research Centre and led the Connect Up project for the HRI.
