GRoW Wellbeing: Co-designing Green Prescription Referral Pathways for Regional Queensland Communities
12:10 PM - 12:30 PM Thu
Dr Ros Prichard is a Registered Nurse and Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast, with a background in heart failure, health economics, and community-based wellbeing initiatives. Her current research focuses on the design and evaluation of green and social prescribing pathways that link health and community sectors to support long term illness management, mental health, health promotion and social connection.
Ros leads the Green Referrals for Wellbeing (GRoW) project in regional Queensland — a community-initiated project co-designed with local organisations such as Pomona Community House and Noosa Permaculture. GRoW is integrating therapeutic horticulture, volunteer training, and link-worker models to build inclusive, sustainable pathways for wellbeing through nature and community participation.
She is also involved in research on educational quality, equity, and digital readiness in nursing education, contributing to national discussions on moderation, AI resilience, and diversity in higher education. Ros is passionate about participatory design, health equity, and connecting systems that allow people, and communities to thrive.
