CLOSING SESSION: TELEMEDICINE AND OLDER ADULTS: READINESS AND SAFETY IMPLICATIONS
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thu
Sandy Turbes, MD has cared for patients in post-acute and long-term care, assisted living, and home settings during her 4 years at Genevive. In addition, she is medical director at Trinity Care Center in Farmington, Minnesota. Prior to her time at Genevive, she worked in both primary care and urgent care settings. She has a strong interest in infectious diseases and epidemiology, which has led to a focus on infections that affect elders in congregate living, including influenza and now COVID-19. Dr. Turbes has contributed to protocols used by Genevive around in-person and virtual (telehealth) visits, use of PPE, and other new processes in the era of COVID-19. She has also presented within and outside the organization on a range of topics including management of COVID-19 in senior congregate living, information around back-to-school decisions, and more.
