John Yen Wong graduated from Yale University in 1975. He began his real estate career in 1981. In 2003, Realtor Magazine named John as one the 25 most influential people in real estate. In 2011, the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers inducted John into its “Hall of Leaders.” John is a Founding Chairman of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) which has close to 19,000 members across North America. John owned and managed real estate companies for 16 years. He is currently a Broker Associate with “eXp Realty” a next generation real estate company based in the Cloud. In 2004, John served as the National President for the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB), an institute now known as the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI) of the National Association of Realtors. John was the 2024 Chair for NAR’s “Public Policy Coordinating Committee” and C.A.R.’s “Fair Housing Policy Committee. John is currently a member of C.A.R.’s “Strategic Planning and Finance Committee.” John is on the Advisor for the “Council for Inclusion in Financial Services” (CIFS) and has served on the “Council to Advance Residential Equity’ of the Appraisal Foundation. John has also been in the regulatory side of the real estate industry and was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson to serve on the California Department of Real Estate’s Advisory Commission. For over four decades, John has worked with clients in the United States and from across the globe. He understands the intricacies and nuances associated with such transactions. Over the past 43 years, he has supervised or been the direct broker in 1,000s of real estate transactions that have involved Asian clients, domestic and global. John understands the evolving nature of real estate markets and how enabling homeownership for all is a tool for opening the doors to the middle class, generational wealth-transfer, and stabilizing communities. He has presented his ideas to audiences across the globe.
