Session 4 - a: Advancements in Diagnostic Procedures and Animal Research Facility Management
1:45 PM - 3:30 PM Fri
Over years, list of agents to be tested for proper animal facility health monitoring increased as well as number of technics to detect them. Implementing a health monitoring program in a facility, choosing the right technical approach depending expectations and interpreting results is a more and more challenging process.
Understanding limitations and benefits of each technics, from classical bacteriology and serology to last advances in use of PCR testing is key. As well, making the link between an agent, a testing method and a particular agent is paramount.
Over an historical point of view and some examples, this seminar aim to place current trends in health monitoring into perspective and to provide insights about how to implement and manage an efficient control program.
