Julie graduated from Buena Vista University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. She worked as a case manager for the Department of Human Services in El Paso County and North Carolina. In 2016, she graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Arts in School Counseling; she began working as a school counselor in ASD20. In 2021, she earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. In 2022, she started working on her Doctoral of Education from Texas Tech University in Educational Leadership and Policy.
