Carly Bader is the Manager of Science at Willow Industries, responsible for analyzing WillowPure partner data to address the highest-risk sources of contamination and working with operation and cultivation teams to ensure healthy practices are implemented. Fueled by her passion for solving problems through research, Carly earned her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida to pursue the investigative field of infectious disease. Carly is well-versed in cannabis regulations and testing requirements. Prior to joining Willow, she entered the cannabis space as a Supervisory Analyst at AgriScience Laboratories, where she managed a team of microbiologists, carried out environmental swabs & contaminant testing, analyzed client data to communicate any issues, and routinely attended Colorado state regulatory meetings on cannabis. Carly also served as a Senior Microbiologist at SC Labs, where she expanded her education into the intricacies of the hemp space, was involved in all aspects of assays required for both cannabis and hemp testing, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. Carly’s quest to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for scientific research led her to accept a professorship in Microbiology at the Community College of Denver in 2021. While teaching, Carly facilitated in developing a curriculum for students to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Cannabis Science and Operations, including the development of courses on the fundamentals of cannabis science and microbiological analysis of medicinal plants. Carly taught the inaugural class of students which brought pioneers from the larger scope of the industry together in a discussion-based Seminar. She has published papers on toxin biology, metabolic stem cell research and cannabis science in Cannabis Business Times, the Journal of Microbiological Methods, Project CBD, and more.
