Toxic Rainbow: Artificial Food Coloring Impact On Children’s Health and Behaviors
10:00 AM - 11:15 AM Wed
Muhammad Mahdi, RN is a community advocate and entrepreneur. He has used subtle and creative methods to assess and meet the needs of his community. Born the son of a Principal and an Army officer, he migrated from school to school, city to city before his mother found a cause worth settling for in Milwaukee, WI. Since his time as a high school student, Mahdi has spent much of his free time volunteering his services to community improvement through neighborhood cleanup, tutoring, and aiding the less fortunate in the Greater Milwaukee Area. He continuously helps in the community because he believes that it is vital and most importantly, a necessity in the redevelopment of community life and humanity.
Mahdi, an early childhood educator, returned to school to become a registered nurse; fulfilling a promise he made to his great grandmother as she transitioned. His devotion for community improvement and skill set as a nurse Mahdi held positions in Med-Surg, L&D, and Director of Nursing. He understood his need to focus his efforts on the prevention of poor health rather than treating poor health. His most recent endeavor BKlear H2O, does just that; promotes healthier choices/outcomes, reduces plastic waste (community litter), but also addresses climate control, water deprivation, and promotes the saving of our marine life. BKlear has not only gained attention from persons such as English Gardner (Gold medal Olympian), Fat Joe, Dame Dash and Master P (Serial Entrepreneur/Rap Mogul), but also The Global Response Team has teamed with BKlear to assist with relief efforts (clean water) in Africa.
