Dr. Lesley Eason currently serves as a consultant and coach for Franklin Covey after retiring with 30 years of service as a public educator. During her career, Dr. Eason served as a secondary English and history teacher, middle school assistant principal and principal, high school principal, assistant superintendent and as the Associate Superintendent for Instructional Services and Continuous Improvement. As a former board member for the North Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators, principal of a National Middle School to Watch and a member of the Middle School Team of the Year, Dr. Eason has developed a sincere love and understanding of the middle-level learner as well as a deep appreciation for middle-level leaders and educators.
As a secondary educator, Dr. Eason also has vast experience and an affinity for the importance of the high school experience. As a member of the Franklin Covey High School Development Team, she has worked closely with all aspects of Leader in Me for high schools, which honors student credentialing, and the importance of students being career, college and life ready. During her career as a public educator, Dr. Eason was selected as the District Principal of the Year and the District Teacher of the Year. She has researched and presented extensively on secondary content related to globalization, data-informed decision-making, career academy implementation and rigor across the curriculum.
Additionally, after numerous opportunities to present at conferences such as UNESCO, AdvancED, the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA), High Schools to Watch (HSTW), the North Carolina Association of School Administrators (NCASA) as well as the North Carolina and South Carolina Association of Middle Level Educators (AMLE); Dr. Eason has found her voice specifically around the importance of leadership for all educational stakeholders. According to Dr. Eason, “We must always maintain a clear focus on the importance of leadership; with laser focus we best prepare ourselves to lead the way and to make a daily difference in all that we aspire to accomplish.”
Dr. Lesley Eason was awarded the 2016 Advanc-ED Leading by Example Designation and the following was shared, “Thank you for your exemplary leadership in education and for leading and empowering your community to ensure that all learners meet their potential and for initiating growth, change and innovation to create opportunities for every learner.” This statement beautifully summarizes the life-long work of Dr. Eason and the passion and enthusiasm that she brings to each organization that she considers herself so fortunate to serve.
Lesley Eason is a proud wife of 27 years. Her husband, Bob, also served as a public educator and coach for 30 years. She is also a devoted mother to sons, Trey and Gage, and thrives in her time with family and friends. Lesley serves on numerous community boards and organizations and is active in her local church.
