Dr Rodney Mbizvo is a Cardiologist, currently undertaking an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at The Royal Adelaide Hospital. Hailing from New Zealand, but with his roots in Zimbabwe, he completed his medical degree at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, having done a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. He did his post-graduate physician training in New Zealand where he completed his training as a Cardiologist at Dunedin Hospital, Otago. He is passionate about cardiovascular health amongst sub-Saharan African populations and helping shine a spotlight on the lack of data supporting management of this rapidly growing community in Australia. Having undertaken a brief working sabbatical as a junior doctor in his native Zimbabwe prior to commencing his physician training, he witnessed first-hand the contemporary trend towards cardiovascular events in relatively young patients. He looks forward to contributing towards the important work of the African Australian Heart Health Initiative.
