Dr. Meron Teferi Taye is a water resources engineer (hydrologist) and a researcher at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Meron has been working in water and climate research for over 10 years and contributed to a range of applied, interdisciplinary research and development projects.
Meron holds a PhD in Engineering (water resources) from KU Leuven, Belgium. Her MSc. is In Water Resources Engineering from interuniversity program at KU Leuven and Free University of Brussels in Belgium. She has BSc. in Agricultural engineering and mechanization from Hawassa University, Ethiopia. She was a research associate University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA. She was Ethiopia’s Country Program Manager - REACH: improving water security for the poor research program of Oxford University at Water and Land Resources Center of Addis Ababa University. Meron was Africa Oxford (AfOx) visiting fellow at Oxford University in 2019 and was the prestigious FLAIR (Future Leaders - African Independent Research) fellow in 2020, which is funded by the Royal Society UK.
