United Association (UA) Local 496 is a dynamic organization representing skilled tradespeople in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. With approximately 1,800 members, Local 496 encompasses various trades, including Sprinklerfitting, Plumbing, Steamfitting, Welding, and Quality Control. UA Local 496 with their state-of-the-art training facility, The Piping Industry Training School (PITS), place a strong emphasis on continuous skill development. Our belief in staying at the forefront of industry advancements drives the investment into training. Our Sprinkler membership is the amongst the highest trained per cap membership in Canada. Our facility has multiple sprinkler valve labs, an electric fire pump lab and a cross connection lab, which highlight the training that most of our members utilize in our diverse market of Southern Alberta.
