DOZ also offers comprehensive tax services, preparing annual federal and state tax returns for over 6,000 multifamily housing-related entities each year. Its tax staff brings a unique combination of professional backgrounds, including CPAs, JDs, and MBAs, to understand, apply, and communicate the ever-changing tax code with clients to ensure proper reporting and to maximize the benefits to the client. DOZ has valuable expertise in every level of Low Income Housing Tax Credit reporting, from the single-asset partnership entity to the consolidated owner entity, syndication fund, syndicator, or direct investor.
The DOZ Charitable Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) corporation that works in unison with DOZ to make a difference in the community. The Foundation is managed and controlled by nine directors elected by DOZ employees through an independent voting process. The Foundation's mission is primarily achieved through monetary contributions and participation in fundraising community outreach. DOZ employees bring causes and organizations important to them to the Foundation Board of Directors to seek volunteer participation, financial support, or both. The Foundation's commitment to the community is reflected in the $136k in donations to 47 community organizations and 1,295 employee volunteer hours at 50 events in 2020. The Foundation partners with organizations working to better their communities, from large scale charitable organizations to smaller grassroots groups, to make a significant impact. Through their efforts, the DOZ Charitable Foundation promotes a heritage of responsible stewardship and makes a positive difference in people's lives.
