The Tanner Humanities Center launched its Mormon Studies Initiative in 2010 to encourage the vibrant, intellectual exploration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and all religious traditions that trace their roots to Joseph Smith in an effort to better understand their various institutions, histories, cultures, and peoples. The College of Humanities is now home to the Mormon Studies Initiative which continues to foster research, writing, funding, teaching, and the hosting of conferences and workshops related to the study of various Mormon traditions.
