AKRF is committed to the development and preservation of affordable and supportive housing throughout New York City and the Hudson Valley. We work on projects of all scopes and sizes, from single-use buildings like Tres Puentes and Crotona Senior Housing to large-scale, mixed-use developments with housing components like Essex Crossing and La Central. AKRF has contributed to no fewer than 200 housing-related projects currently in planning, design, construction, or occupancy throughout our geographic footprint. We collaborate with our clients to identify and address environmental and engineering issues that may arise during project development and implementation. Our strong relationships with regulatory agencies and familiarity with applicable regulations and financing requirements save our clients time and money — all while moving towards the end goal of building occupation. AKRF is also an approved consultant to support projects obtaining financing through the New York City Acquisition Fund. With two former environmental planning directors from New York City’s housing preservation and development agency in our planning department, AKRF understands HUD and HPD’s environmental requirements, and how to work with government, developers, lenders, architects, and others active in affordable and supportive housing to bring projects to fruition.
