The community development attorneys on our Banking & Financial Services Practice Team are experienced in representing lenders in connection with the structuring, negotiating and closing of complex transactions involving the construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing projects in New York State. We assist our clients in their arrangements with the New York State Housing Trust Fund Corporation, the New York State Housing Finance Agency, the State of New York Mortgage Agency, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Employee Retirement System, the New York City Housing Authority, and other financing agencies and housing authorities. In addition, we assist our clients with permanent take-out financing and insurance, as well as converting construction loans to the permanent phase. We have in depth knowledge and significant experience with various tax credits (including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits and brownfield tax credits) and various financing sources (including OMH, ESSHI, and HUD funds).
