Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the number one cause of death in women in the U.S. Traditionally, women and heart disease has been an overlooked area in terms of research and education, with women often being misdiagnosed and undertreated. This program will address multiple facets of CVD in women. Experts in CVD in women will present the latest research, providing the most up to date guidelines and recommendations on pregnancy, menopause, hypertension, stroke, arrhythmia, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and diabetes in women.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed for primary care physicians, internists, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, obstetrics, maternal and fetal medicine, breast cancer specialists, neurologists, vascular disease specialists, bariatrics, cardiothoracic and diagnostics radiology, intensivists, RNs, NPs, PAs an other medical professionals involved in the evaluation, diagnosis and/or management of patients with cardiovascular disease.  


JOINT ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and Columbia University, Department of Surgery.  Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accredidation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.  

Physicians (ACCME) Credit Designation

Amedco LLC designates this live virtual activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physician Assistants

PAs may claim a maximum of 7.25 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.  NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.

Nurse Practitioners

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) recognizes the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as approved accreditors and allow reciprocity for AANPCP continuing education credit.  Maximum of 7.25 hours.
