This all-day conference will offer continuing education contact hours for counselors, social workers, LMFTs, nurses, certified case managers, and activity professionals.
Mental Health professionals: This program has applied for 6.75 hours of continuing education credit including 3 ethics hours for Social Workers, LPCs, and LMFTs.
Nurses: This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved for 6.5 hours by Louisiana State Nurses Association - Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Activity Professionals: This activity has been approved for 6.75 hours by the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.

Pre-conference Sessions
Chose from Adult or Youth Mental Health First Aid workshops will be offered on Tuesday, June 28.
These pre-conference workshops will each offer about 8 hours of CEs for social work, LPC, and LMFT.
Phyllis Grandgeorge, M.Ed., LPC, is the Executive Director of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas and has led the organization for 32 years.
Melanie Taylor has worked at Burke since 1986. She served as the Chief Administrative Officer from 2003 to 2018, and in 2018 was appointed to the position of Deputy CEO. In June 2019, Ms. Taylor assumed the role of CEO.
Samantha Williams is a licensed master social worker and conflict mediator. She has presented on several different topics to include mental health, military, Veteran Treatment Courts, substance use and mindfulness techniques.
Kim Simmons, LCDC, ACPS, CPM is the Director of Prevention for the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas and has been a leader for the organization for 28 years.
Kim Bartel is the Data Coordinator for the Region 5 Prevention Resource Center of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas.
Kristin Thomas is a graduate student finishing up her doctorate in occupational therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
