This course will cover tax incentives (namely the R&D Tax Credit and EPAct 179D) for engineering designs and major recent updates to these incentives.  The R&D Tax Credit is available for engineering firms engaged in technical design and development activities, and EPAct 179D tax deductions are available for energy-efficient building designs.  Both of these incentives are now permanent and expanded with new provisions that enable more companies to utilize them.  Learn how firms can utilize these incentives to improve profitability and cash flow.

Course Objectives:

•         The basics of the R&D Tax Credit and EPAct 179D and recent legislation updates

•         The various tests that must be met to claim each incentive

•         What type of projects and activities qualify under each incentive
