Hernia Repair: Does Gender Matter? Webinar Recording
Recording Available Until:
July 23, 2022
Program Overview
This webinar was recorded on July 24, 2020. This webinar is designed to examine the impact of gender in the management of hernia repair. Experts will discuss post-operative outcomes and discuss the biologic variable in gender in managing hernia repair. Hernia symptoms in both men and women are similar; however, certain types of hernia are more predominant depending on gender. While femoral hernias are more common in women, men are more susceptible to inguinal hernias. Our goal is to help participants understand the data and determine a recommendation of hernia repair and the use of mesh in women of childbearing age.
