The Cardiovascular Forum is hosted by NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. This monthly course represents a unique multidisciplinary collaboration between cardiologists, vascular, and cardiac surgeons, allowing for a truly comprehensive approach to the management of aortic and cardiovascular disease. Lectures, case presentations and panel discussions will be given by internationally recognized experts who will address the updated knowledge and cutting-edge technologies in the field, and review standard and emerging treatments for patients with cardiovascular diseases. Interactive discussion will engender learning and improvement in the management of patients with the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.

June 28, 2021: A Multidisciplinary Approach for Acute or Chronic Pulmonary Embolisms
Our team of experts will discuss Columbia University’s rapid-response, multidisciplinary team approach to treating pulmonary embolisms – the third most common cause of death from cardiovascular disease. Case presentations will be reviewed and discussed on Acute and Chronic PE and PTE.
As a member of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) Consortium, Columbia is in the vanguard of treating pulmonary embolism with a rapid response, multidisciplinary team. The PERT Consortium aims to guide and influence PE care and research in institutions across the U.S. and to become the driving force behind increased survival rates and future treatment.
