2021 Health Literacy Annual Research Conference

The Health Literacy Annual Research Conference is an interdisciplinary meeting for investigators dedicated to health literacy research. It is an opportunity to advance the field of health literacy, a method to raise the quality of our research, and a venue for professional development. Our aim is to attract a full range of investigators engaged in health literacy research including those involved in a broad array of public health, health services, epidemiology, translational, and interventional research activities.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of health literacy in public health and health care sectors;
  • Identify interventions that can be done to ameliorate the impact of health literacy on health outcomes;
  • Give examples of research methods regarding measurement of health literacy, epidemiologic and health services research in health literacy, and intervention studies;
  • Recognize the role of health literacy in promulgating racial and ethnic health disparities as well as the potential for health literacy oriented interventions to alleviate these disparities.
