The Statewide Ecosystem Assessment of Coastal and Aquatic Resources (SEACAR) Regional meeting will be a collaborative process involving local, state and federal natural resource managers, data providers, researchers and partners. The Data and Partner Teams will utilize current knowledge of coastal processes and available scientific data obtained from inventory and monitoring programs around the state to identify ecological indicators. These indicators will help determine ecosystem status and trends.
Day 1: The Data Team will assess existing long term data and identify indicators which provide the best assessment of our aquatic habitats and resources.
Day 2: In the morning, the Partner Team will review the selected indicators from Day 1 with the Data Team. In the afternoon, the Partner Team will reconvene and assess what indicators can support their management policies and procedures. The Partner Team will also brainstorm ideas for product formats, communication tools and decision support tools.
